Dance is an integral part of almost every culture in the world. I was probably one of the first social activities. The reason for that is simple: People just love to dance to a good rhythm together with their friends. Among primitive peoples dancing is also a part of their religious worship.
Dancing is a form of art. There are hundreds of different dances from classical ballet to dance hall reggae and street dance. Even if you don't want to be a professional dance artist, you could take up dancing.
Many finns are too shy to dance - especially if there are other people watching. They don't believe in themselves and think that they'd just make fools out of themselves. But dancing really isn't such a serious business!
I see a lot of benefits in dance. Not only does it improve your condition but it also teaches you to control your body movements better. And what would better impress someone than showing your skills on the dance floor?
So next time you hear a good tune on the radio or in a club just free your mind and body and let the music take control!
